Whew! I’ve been so busy lately, that I’m totally late with the Gift-A-Long post! Fortunatley, it’s not too late to join the fun, at all, so if you’d like to play, jump right on it!
What is Gift-A-Long?
GAL (Gift-A-Long) is a huge event organized by indie designers, where you can play games, win prizes, discover new patterns and designers and, what’s most important, prepare for Christmas by making your gifts together with other Ravellers! All details can be found here: http://www.ravelry.com/groups/indie-design-gift-a-long
How long does it last?
6 weeks, so there’s still plenty of time to join – November 22nd at 8pm (US-EST) through December 31th at 11:59 pm (US-EST).
What patterns take part in the KAL/CALs?
All patterns by participating designers, so lots, lots, lots! Here’s the link to all of them: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/search#designer-bundle=696267&sort=date
Ok, so now, when you know more or less, what the GAL is, I’m ready to show you my choices for this year (i.e. patterns I’d love to work on, if I have enough time…).
Click the photos to go to the patterns :)
Lodgepole Pullover by Sara Gresbah
I fell in love with it last year and bought the pattern then, but, sadly, I had no time to make it. But this year will be different and my son will have a beautiful sweater!
Hoar Frost by Ranee Mueller
I alreday started this one in Santa colors – it’s turning out sooo cute!
The Secret Way of Patterns by Janelle Martin
This one stole my heart not only because of the beautiful stitches, but also by the story behind it. Be sure to read it on the pattern page!
I’m also eyeing Iced Experiment and Tablet Braid Scarf by the same deisgner. Ah, choices, choices…
Kyra Boatneck Pullover by Kelene Kinnersly
I love, love boatneck pullovers and cables, so, you know… I must knit this!
Chesterfield Neckwarmer by Nina Machlin Dayton
Not sure what color I’ll choose for this one, but I’ll be definitely making one for myself and maybe for someone else, too, after the GAL. I had a hard time choosing between this design and Strawberry Leaves Neckwarmer… Do you think I made the right choice?
Harvest Leaf Bag by ASimpleHomstead
One can never have too many bags and I could really use a pretty, autumn themed bag like this!
Gus by Jenny Wiebe
Jenny has so many beautiful classic (and classy!) boy patterns that I couldn’t resist one more (I knitted Calaway a while ago and my son looked supercute in it!).
Gwylan Bonnet by Emily Ringelman
I adore everything about this hat – the shape (I always knitted beanies only), the beautiful cabled pattern and the pompoms!
Now to find enough time for all this! Aaaand what are your choices for this GAL?
